Hello, I am Ana
I work as a project manager. I'm a parent, and I'm an expat based in Lisbon, Portugal.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Portugal wasn't part of the long-range plan. Like many international relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Routine tasks felt more complicated than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning on the job. But gradually, habits settled. We found places that fit us, met other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Cozy Garden Stone
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in Portugal.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Hands-on experience from living in Portugal
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- An official tourism resource
- Sponsored review platform
- A general travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Portugal continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll keep recording what we learn.
If you have questions about family life in Lisbon or anywhere in Portugal, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Ana
